More Leopard Gecko eating crickets

These crickets were actually a little too big. I will have to make sure to get smaller ones in the future.

The last cricket was eventually eaten, but it took a while.

He looks so mean when he eats, like a wild ferocious beast… and then once he swallows he’s cute and cuddly again.

    Does geckos have scales?

  8. jderhamm says:

    NO.

  9. postalcode900 says:

    But they are reptiles, right?

  10. jderhamm says:

Technically, I guess you could say that they have scales. However, they do not really have a scaled look. A leopard gecko’s skin has a smoother appearance than many other scaled lizards. I am by no means an expert, so if you want to know more I suggest you get a book from the library or talk to a reptile specialist.

like the tiles how did you do that do you have to cut it or measure it?

  16. jderhamm says:

You do not have to cut the tiles. At least not for a 20 gal long tank. The tiles are the perfect size to fit the tank. There are some gaps though. Some people fill the gaps with sand, but I don’t want to risk impaction.

what do you think of putting clay as a subsrate

  20. yttihp11 says:

i used tiles for a while but my geckos couldnt pounce for there food very well because they kept slipping on the smooth surface of the tiles. lol
